Ken  TAKE A WALK IN SHIBUYA

2016/6/20 - 7/2

Ken is one of the few in Japan to truly understand street culture from all over the world.
His second solo exhibition at Gallery Naruyama features drawings, woodblock prints and a woodcarving inspired by the city of Shibuya. His method of expression, such as the cutting out of various scenes and making sentences out of them have a lightness to them, much like street art.

“Shibuya has absolute energy. Countless things happen there over the years, and these experiences become a part of myself. Shibuya is one of the faces of Tokyo and I would say that it is the entrance into and the exit out of this mega city.
My artworks link the street and society. With a blade I have carved out my Shibuya into woodblocks and into these prints.” - Ken
